Building Genuine Relationships with the Orang Asli through Meaningful Experiences.

The Native Philosophy

We’re in the business of building a better Malaysia—one where everyone has an equal chance to thrive.

The Orang Asli, though just 0.6% of our population, have been key in shaping the Malaysia we love. Yet, their contributions often go unrecognised and underappreciated. A strong and resilient people, they’re already making change happen, and we’re here to support them—one meaningful engagement, and one transformative relationship at a time.

What We Do

Facilitate intercultural relationships between indigenous and non-indigenous communities.

Co-created with Orang Asli partners, our cultural experiences offer the unique opportunity to engage the Orang Asli in their home communities. Through guided hikes, traditional culinary tastings and open dialogues, celebrate and learn from time-tested indigenous wisdom and traditions.

Support indigenous communities to thrive through entrepreneurship.

We nurture indigenous entrepreneurs through the provision of resources and market access. From running homestay experiences to mass-producing heritage sambals, we’re proud to walk with our partners as they build culturally-significant business ventures.

Promoting Indigenous Allyship for an Inclusive Malaysia.

Indigenous allyship is at the heart of our mission. We strive to make allyship with the Orang Asli accessible by supporting organisations committed to becoming allies through offerings of carefully curated thought content, resources, workshops, and consultancy services.

Our Two Year Ambition at Native
We want to see a better Malaysia: one that is more inclusive, where everyone is given equal opportunity to play a role in nation building. This can only be achieved when we leverage our diversity. As a nation of approximately 32 million people, hailing from an array of ethnicities and culture, we all have something unique and irreplaceable to bring to the table. It is thus unfortunate that one community often gets sidelined: the Orang Asli.
